How to Help

Martha's House is powered by the generosity of our community to help homeless families and single women transition to a stable lifestyle. There are 18 studios on site that give our families the basic necessities - kitchenware, bed linens, and bathroom items. These items are gifted to the families when they leave Martha's House for a more permanent home.

There are four ways you can help sustain the mission of Martha's House and support families who turn to us for help:

  1. Sponsor a Room. Your church, organization, or family can commit to preparing a room with all the essentials and any personal touches to make incoming families feel welcome. You can collect the items yourself or pay the suggested cost of $500 per family to sponsor a room. The sponsorship form and item list can be found at the link below.

  2. Become a Mentor. Each adult who comes into Martha's House is paired with a mentor from the community who checks in weekly to help encourage and guide them toward their goals. All it takes is a listening ear and a willingness to help. Fill out the volunteer application at the link below to get started.

  3. Join Our Work Crew. Residents of Martha's House do weekly chores to keep the building clean and well-maintained, but we plan a community spring and fall work day each year to take on bigger projects. Get on our notification list by emailing our house manager at marthashouse305hermiston@gmail.com.

  4. Make a Donation. If you'd like to make a one-time or recurring donation to Martha's House, you can designate a payment to the program through the Eastern Oregon Mission donation page.
